History

James W. “Beau” Hays and Emory Potter formed Hays & Potter, PC in 1995. The practice focused on commercial collection accounts, bankruptcy litigation, construction litigation, and bond claims. The firm quickly achieved a reputation as a cost-effective, aggressive creditor’s rights firm in the state of Georgia. Emory Potter was instrumental in creating the Creditor’s Rights Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

Our Firm

James W. Martin was affiliated with Simpson Law Offices, LLP in Atlanta from 1998 until 2008. The firm’s practice area was very similar to Hays & Potter, PC. James quickly developed a practice focusing on the equipment leasing industry and the enforcement of interest in personal property. James left in 2008 to form Moskowitz & Martin, LLP where he continued representing creditors throughout the state.

Beau, Emory and James, colleagues for the better part of twenty years, realized the benefits of combining their expertise and experience to create Hays Potter & Martin, LLP. The practice continues to provide efficient, effective representation throughout the state. With its various affiliations, HPM is able to manage its clients’ litigation and collection needs throughout the U.S.
